I Love Philly, xoxo

My hometown is Philadelphia, PA. I grew up in a section of Philly called Burlholme which is in Northeast Philly and near the world renowned Fox Chase Cancer Center.

Both of my parents were born and raised Philly actually pretty close to Center City or Downtown Philly. As kids, my parents often took us Downtown on the Train so I absolutely LOVE Downtown Philly. I try to drive through whenever I can.

Friday night we ate at the Manayunk Brewery which is on Main Street in the Manayunk section of the city. Then we drove West River Drive into the city to see Boathouse Row lite up for Christmas. Before we came home we stopped at the Christmas Village in LOVE Park at 16th & JFK Blvd on the South side of City Hall. A great night.

On my way home to South Jersey today I drove into the City on Kelly Drive which is my favorite road. I stopped along the way and snapped the below pictures.

This is the Eastern State Penitentiary on Fairmount Avenue. After my grandfather retired from the Navy, he worked as a Prison Guard at this famous Penitentiary where Al Capone was once confined.

Here is a waterside picture of Boathouse Row on Kelly Drive.

Here are pictures of the Philadelphia Art Museum (front & back). The Art Museum is my favorite place in Philly.

This picture is a view of the City Hall from the Ben Franklin Parkway.

I Love Philadelphia!
